Effects of Ambient Conditions on Concrete

When moist air, that is warmer than the slab surface temperature, comes in contact with the concrete the result is a wetting of the concrete slab. The ambient conditions shown above display a dew point temperature of 66.6°F. The surface temperature of 68°F is slightly above the dew point which allows the 78.4% relative humidity to move from the air to the surface of the concrete. The concrete is porous and will absorb the moisture.
